What is Roel International? Roel International is a global education and consulting initiative dedicated to expanding access, opportunity, and excellence across borders. Founded by Dr. María Gloria Roel Vecino, Roel International bridges education, language, leadership, and international mobility to support students, educators, and institutions navigating an increasingly interconnected world. At its core, Roel International exists to open doors academically, professionally, and globally.

Our Founder Dr. María Roel is an international educator, educational leader, and consultant with more than two decades of experience across the United States and Europe. She holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership with an international focus and has taught, designed curriculum, and led programs in multiple states and countries. Currently based in New York City, Dr. Roel has extensive experience in: International Baccalaureate (IB) World Languages Bilingual and multilingual education Curriculum design and instructional leadership Teacher mentoring and professional development International education systems and cross-cultural exchange Her career reflects a deep commitment to educational equity, global citizenship, and empowering underserved communities through language and learning. As both an educator and a parent of globally minded students, she brings a practical, human-centered perspective to every project.

Roel International offers a structured educational travel experience to Spain designed for student groups and educators seeking authentic cultural and professional immersion. This program is available for a minimum group of 12 students or 6 teachers and combines language learning, cultural exploration, and direct engagement with the Spanish educational system. Program Overview Participants experience Spain beyond tourism by living, learning, and engaging within the local community. Through daily interactions, school visits, and guided cultural experiences, participants gain a deep understanding of Spanish language, culture, and education. Accommodation Options Students stay with carefully selected host families, allowing for full cultural and linguistic immersion through daily life, meals, and conversation. Teachers may choose between staying with a host family or in a hotel, depending on their comfort and professional preferences.
